Goldberg Selected as Head Cross Country Coach

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Director of Athletics and Recreation James Lally has announced Patrick Goldberg as the new head men's and women's cross country coach at St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn).

"We are excited to welcome Patrick to the Bears family," commented Lally. "Patrick brings with him a strong passion for collegiate cross country that will take our men's and women's programs to new heights."

No stranger to the Skyline Conference, Goldberg joins the Bears after an illustrious career at fellow league member College of Mount Saint Vincent, where he served as captain and earned All-Skyline First Team honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and named Rookie of the Year in 2013. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, he was also a two-time Skyline Academic Honor Roll selection.

The Dolphins' record holder in the 8-kilometer, 5-kilometer and 5-mile distances, Goldberg was also the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the manager of the men's basketball team before receiving his Bachelor of Arts in business administration in May.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to guide St. Joseph's College Cross Country in this next chapter in program history," remarked Goldberg. "Along with the rest of the athletic department, we will aim to achieve success in the Skyline and beyond, as well as in the classroom."

A Rockaway, New York native, Goldberg possesses strong ties to the local high school cross country scene having served as the assistant coach at York Prep and an alumnus of Archbishop Molloy High School.

"Patrick has a terrific approach to what it means to be a student-athlete, and we are excited for him to take the reigns, work with our current teams, and recruit future Bears that will continue to strengthen our programs," concluded Lally.
