McQuillan Named HVWAC Player of the Week for Third Time

BROOKLYN, NY – For the third time this season, junior guard Ashley McQuillan (Brooklyn, NY/St. Francis Prep) has been named the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Player of the Week. She has now won the award five times in the last two years.

McQuillan set a new career-high against Briarcliffe with 38 points. It was the fifth 30 point game of her career. She drained four three pointers and was 14-19 from the free throw line. McQuillan also grabbed a career-high tying seven rebounds.

McQuillan followed up that performance with 18 points against Lancaster Bible. For the week she led the Lady Bears in scoring, averaging 28 points per game while shooting 41% from the floor.

McQuillan will lead the number two seeded Lady Bears as they being their title defense in the HVWAC Championship Tournament this weekend. Their opening round matchup is against #3 seeded Berkeley at 6:00 pm. St. Joseph's previously defeated Berkeley on January 29th, 81-52.
