AD3I Rookie of the Year Raul Urshela scored four goals and Daniela Semilia and Cynthia Gambino teamed up for the first and only goal scored by a female as the Bears defeated Webb, 10-2, in a victory that drew much attention in the local media.

Three Bears Receive Year-End AD3I Soccer Honors
OVERLAND PARK, KS – After finishing their first varsity season, St. Joseph’s soccer team was rewarded by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) with three players garnering post-season recognition. Raul Urshela (Orlando, FL/Colonial) was named the association’s Rookie of the Year and was named first team forward, while goalkeeper Michael Miner (Schenevus, NY/Schenevus) and forward Gabriel Gonzalez (Guayaquil, Ecuador/25 de Agosto) were named honorable mention at their respective positions.

Miner Named to HVMAC All-Conference Team
BROOKLYN, NY – After finishing second in NCAA Division III in saves per game with 13.18, St. Joseph’s freshman goalkeeper Michael Miner (Schenevus, NY/Schenevus) has been named to the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference All Conference team. With 2011 being the St. Joseph’s inaugural season, Miner becomes the first Bear to be named to the HVMAC All Conference soccer team in school history.

Three Named to USCAA National All-Academic Soccer Team
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – In an announcement made by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) earlier today, junior Omar Al-Dulimi (Brooklyn, NY/Manhatttan International), junior Jessica Gargano (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) and sophomore Daniela Semilia (Brooklyn, NY/Bishop Kearney) were all named to the USCAA National All-Academic Soccer Team.

YONKERS, NY – For the second straight game, the St. Joseph’s College men’s soccer team trailed by one goal at the intermission, but couldn’t find the equalizer, falling 5-0 to Yeshiva on Tuesday night in a non-conference game played at Tibbetts Brook Park.

Second Half Surge Powers Brooklyn Past Bears Soccer
BROOKLYN, NY – After 45 minutes of play, the St. Joseph’s College men’s soccer team trailed by only one goal, but a second half surge from Brooklyn College handed the Bears a 7-0 defeat on a rainy Wednesday night at Kingsborough Community College.

SCHENECTADY, NY - Men's soccer found themselves in an early hole they couldn't climb out of against conference foe Albany Pharmacy. The Bears dropped the match 8-1 to the Panthers. Raul Urshela scored the only goal for St. Joseph's.
